The Sri Lanka Police has announced a special traffic plan in Colombo in connection with the final day of the “Walk for Peace” programme, scheduled for today (28).
The event will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Independence Square under the patronage of Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
According to the Colombo Traffic Division, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented in several key areas, including Bandaranaike Roundabout, Baseline Road up to Borella Junction, Maradana Road, Nandadasa Kodagoda Mawatha, Ward Place, Lipton Circus, Dharmapala Mawatha, F.R. Senanayake Mawatha, C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, Horton Place, Independence Avenue, Premasiri Khemadasa Mawatha, Cambridge Place, Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Flower Road, James Peiris Mawatha, Muttiah Road, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Staple Street, and surrounding roads.
Traffic arrangements will also affect areas around the Gangaramaya Temple.
Motorists and the public are advised to use alternative routes where possible to minimise congestion during the event.
