Sri Lanka Cricket is reportedly set to appoint Kusal Mendis as captain of both the One Day International and Twenty20 International teams from the upcoming West Indies tour.
According to a report published by The Sunday Times Sri Lanka, the 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is expected to replace Charith Asalanka as ODI captain and Dasun Shanaka as T20I skipper.
The move is reportedly aimed at bringing greater stability and direction to Sri Lanka’s white-ball teams ahead of a busy international schedule.
Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva is expected to continue as captain of the Test side, according to the report.
