Royal Challengers Bangalore Clinch IPL 2026 Title With Victory Over Gujarat Titans

June 1, 2026

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged champions of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), securing the title after defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in a thrilling final played in Ahmedabad.

The final was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, regarded as the world’s largest cricket stadium, where Gujarat Titans were invited to bat first after RCB won the toss.

Gujarat faced early setbacks as Bangalore’s bowling attack put them under pressure from the beginning, reducing them to two wickets down for 26 runs.

Despite the early collapse, Washington Sundar anchored the innings with a fighting unbeaten half-century off 37 deliveries, while Nishant Sindhu contributed 20 runs.

Gujarat Titans eventually posted 155 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

RCB bowler Rasikh Salam played a key role with the ball, claiming three wickets for 27 runs to restrict Gujarat’s batting lineup.

Chasing a target of 156, Royal Challengers Bangalore took control of the match early and successfully reached the target in 18 overs, scoring 161 for 5.

With the victory, RCB secured the IPL 2026 title, capping off a successful campaign in one of the world’s most competitive Twenty20 cricket tournaments.
