Japanese Prime Minister Sanya Takaichi arrived in New Delhi on a three-day official visit to participate in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The visit, taking place from July 1 to July 3 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marks Takaichi’s first official visit to India since assuming office.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold high-level bilateral talks focusing on strengthening cooperation in economic security, resilient supply chains, defence, and maritime security.

The summit is expected to further enhance the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with discussions also covering regional security issues and the shared vision for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
Speaking before departing Tokyo, Prime Minister Takaichi highlighted India’s growing importance in Japan’s foreign and strategic policy, noting that cooperation between the two countries has become increasingly significant amid a rapidly evolving global geopolitical landscape.
The visit is expected to reinforce the longstanding partnership between India and Japan while exploring new avenues for strategic, economic, and security cooperation.
