A total of 104 new Metro buses imported to improve the efficiency and quality of Sri Lanka’s public transport service arrived in the country (29).
The buses were imported from Foton International Corporation, a leading vehicle manufacturer based in China.
The agreement to import the new Metro buses was signed in May this year as part of the Government’s efforts to modernise the country’s public transport sector.
With the arrival of the first batch of 104 buses, the programme has officially entered its implementation phase, with the new fleet expected to enhance passenger comfort and strengthen public transport services.
