Sri Lanka has received more than USD 5 billion in remittances from migrant workers during the first seven months of this year.
The figure marks an increase from the USD 4,435.2 million received during the corresponding period last year.
Speaking at a meeting with professionals in Passara, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ruwan Ranasinghe said migrant worker remittances are expected to reach USD 10 billion by the end of this year.
