Dengue Cases in Sri Lanka Rise to Over 91,000

The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) says the number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka has continued to increase.

According to the latest NDCU data, a total of 91,346 dengue cases have been reported across the country up to yesterday (13).

A total of 68 deaths have also been attributed to dengue during the same period.

July recorded the highest monthly number of dengue cases so far this year, with 29,968 cases. Meanwhile, 6,004 cases were reported during the first 13 days of August.

The Western Province remains the most affected, recording 48,383 cases so far this year.

The Southern Province has reported 13,479 cases, while 8,160 cases have been recorded in the Central Province.
