The Ministry of Defence has announced that the renewal process for firearm licences for 2027 will commence tomorrow (1 September).
According to the Ministry, licence holders will have until 31 December 2026 to renew their firearm licences, giving eligible holders a four-month period to complete the required formalities.
The Ministry further warned that possessing a firearm without a valid renewed licence constitutes an offence under Section 22 of the Firearms Ordinance and may result in legal action and penalties.
