The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 24-hour suspension of the water supply in several areas of Colombo due to essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
The interruption will begin at 8.00 p.m. tomorrow (03) and continue until 8.00 p.m. on Friday (04).
The affected areas include Nugegoda, Kohuwala, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soysapura, Angulana, Indibedda, Katubedda, Kaldemulla, Mutwal, Koralawella, Egoda Uyana and Katukurunda.
The disruption will also affect Sethsiripaya, Himbutana, Udumulla Road, Maliga Godella, Bank Junction Road, W. A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06, Hospital Roundabout Road, Jayanthi Mawatha and Shanthi Mawatha.
According to the NWSDB, the maintenance work is being carried out to improve the quality of the water supply.
The Board has requested residents in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the interruption and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
