Sri Lanka’s public transportation network has received a boost with the arrival of seven low-floor buses donated by Japan as part of the longstanding development partnership between the two countries.
The buses were jointly donated by the Government of Japan and the people of Yokohama City to support the improvement of public transportation services in Sri Lanka.
Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata officially handed over the seven buses to the Sri Lankan Government, highlighting the continued friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
The low-floor design provides easier access for passengers, particularly senior citizens and people with mobility difficulties. The buses are expected to improve accessibility and convenience for commuters while contributing to better public transport services.
