Cabinet approval has been granted to upgrade a damaged section of the Blackpool–Ambewela–Pattipola–Horton Plains (B 512) road.
The affected section, extending from the 5+200 km mark to the 12+000 km mark, was damaged by Cyclone ‘Dittwa’ in late November 2025.
Bids were invited under the National Competitive Bidding procedure, and four bids were received.
Following an evaluation of the bids and based on the recommendations of the High-Level Procurement Committee, the contract will be awarded to M/s Asset Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., the lowest substantially responsive bidder.
The contract is valued at Rs. 791.68 million, excluding taxes.
Cabinet approval was granted for the proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development.
