The Ministry of Education says 38 schools across Sri Lanka have been closed today (21) due to adverse weather conditions.
In a statement, the Ministry said local education authorities have been given the authority to decide whether schools should conduct classes based on the prevailing weather conditions in their respective areas.
Accordingly, as of 9:00 a.m. today, 35 schools in the Central Province and one school each in the Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Western provinces have been closed.
