The Department of Examinations has announced that the practical examinations of the 2026 General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) examination will be held islandwide for candidates who sat the written examination earlier this year.
According to the schedule, practical examinations for Dance (Oriental and Bharatha), Music (Oriental, Carnatic and Western), and Drama and Theatre (Sinhala, Tamil and English) will be conducted from September 24 to October 3, 2026.
The Engineering Technology practical examination will be held from September 30 to October 10, while Home Economics practicals will take place from October 10 to October 20. Bio-Systems Technology practical examinations are scheduled from October 17 to October 21.
Admission cards for school candidates will be sent to the principals of their respective schools, while private candidates will receive their admission cards by post at the addresses provided in their applications.
Candidates can also download their admission cards from the Department of Examinations’ official website from seven days before the commencement of the practical examinations.
