The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says adverse weather conditions have affected 3,495 people from 943 families across 104 Divisional Secretariat divisions in 15 districts between September 19 and 6.00 a.m. today (27).
The DMC reported three deaths, five injuries and one missing person during the period. Two houses have been completely damaged, while 448 houses have been partially damaged.
Meanwhile, 124 people from 36 families are currently staying at five safety centres.
Kandy recorded the highest number of affected people at 782, followed by Ratnapura with 688, Gampaha with 473, Matara with 383, Puttalam with 310, and Kegalle with 224.
