Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of Sri Lanka after 1.00 p.m. today (9), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western and Southern provinces, as well as the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts.
The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions are also expected in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, during the early morning hours.
