The Department of Meteorology has issued a severe lightning warning for all provinces of Sri Lanka, with thundershowers expected in most parts of the island.
The warning will remain in effect until 1.00 a.m. tomorrow (October 15).
The Department cautioned that temporary, localised strong winds may also occur during thundershowers.
The public has been urged to take adequate precautions to minimise the risks and damage associated with lightning.
