The Cabinet has approved awarding the contract to supply 420,000 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Litro Gas Lanka Limited for 2027 to OQ Trading Limited.
The contract will cover a 12-month period beginning January 1, 2027, with a minimum guaranteed supply of 336,000 metric tonnes.
Under the agreement, LPG will be supplied on a Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) basis, with a fixed premium of USD 133.93 per metric tonne added to the Saudi Aramco contract price.
Litro Gas Lanka Limited invited international competitive bids for its 2027 LPG requirements and received four bids.
Following recommendations from the Technical Evaluation Committee, the bids were evaluated by the Cabinet-Appointed Procurement Committee.
The Cabinet subsequently approved the proposal submitted by the President in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
