The Ministry of Health and Mass Media yesterday (November 6) officially handed over 10 new Toyota double-cab vehicles to regional health offices under the World Bank-funded Primary Health Care System Strengthening Project (PSSP).
The vehicles were procured to improve the efficiency of healthcare service delivery at rural and regional levels.
Accordingly, the vehicles have been allocated to the Regional Offices of the Director of Health Services in Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam, Monaragala, Polonnaruwa, Kalutara, Matara, Ratnapura, Trincomalee and Jaffna, as well as to the National Institute of Health Sciences in Kalutara.
The handover ceremony was held at the Ministry premises and attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Specialist Dr. Anil Jasinghe; Project Director of the Primary Health Care System Strengthening Project, Dr. Lalith Liyanage; senior Ministry officials; and representatives of Toyota Lanka.
