Sri Lanka’s gross official reserves reached USD 7.09 billion at the end of October 2026, according to the latest Weekly Economic Indicators report released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
The Central Bank said gross official reserves were provisionally estimated at USD 7,086 million as of October 31. The figure includes proceeds from the swap arrangement with the People’s Bank of China.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank reported that it had made net foreign exchange purchases amounting to USD 191 million from the domestic foreign exchange market during October.
Despite the increase in reserves, the Sri Lankan rupee recorded a year-to-date depreciation of 6.7 per cent against the US dollar as of November 6, 2026.
The figures were published in the Central Bank’s Weekly Economic Indicators report released on November 6.
