The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has announced that its special raid and investigation programme launched for the festive season will continue until April 30.
According to the CAA, nearly 2,000 raids have been conducted since March 20 in response to complaints and incidents affecting consumers.
Director of Information and Consumer Affairs Asela Bandara stated that the programme mainly targets violations such as failure to display prices, overpricing, and unfair treatment of consumers.
He noted that officials are actively taking steps to prevent exploitation and ensure fair trading practices during the festive period.
Bandara also urged the public to report any issues, adding that complaints can be made during office hours via the CAA hotline 1977 for prompt action.
