Colombo Court adjourns Hearing in Diana Gamage Immigration Case to July 31

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court hasadjourned the hearing of the case against former State Minister Diana Gamage to July 31, 2025. The case involves multiple charges under Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Act.

Ms. Gamage stands accused of remaining in the country without a valid visa and providing false information to immigration authorities. The hearing was initially scheduled to be held before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali on April 24. However, due to the Chief Magistrate’s absence, the matter was taken up before Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela, who directed that the case be recalled on July 31.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed seven charge sheets against the former State Minister, alleging she remained in Sri Lanka unlawfully and obtained a Sri Lankan passport through the use of forged documents.
