Court Imposes Travel Ban on Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s Grandmother in Money Laundering Case

The Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court has issued an overseas travel ban on Daisy Forrest Wickremesinghe, also known as ‘Daisy Achchi’, the grandmother of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, in connection with a money laundering investigation.

According to Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga, Daisy Forrest has been named a suspect in the case under the instructions of the Attorney General. The investigation focuses on a Rs. 59 million joint account held by Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest, for which Rajapaksa failed to provide a reasonable source of income.

SSP Manathunga further stated that all individuals implicated in the case will be prosecuted under the Money Laundering Act.
