Businessman Dhammika Perera has warned the public about fake videos generated using artificial intelligence (AI) that are circulating on social media to promote various investment schemes.
In an official statement, his office clarified that he has no connection to the videos, the investment platforms featured in them or the claims being made.
The statement described the videos as a malicious attempt to mislead the public.
The public has been urged to report such content to the relevant social media platforms, the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) via report@cert.gov.lk, or the police.
His office also advised the public to rely only on Dhammika Perera’s official social media accounts for accurate information.
