Digital Government Payment System Introduced in 130 Local Government Bodies

The Ministry of Public Administration Provincial Councils and Local Government Sri Lanka says the digitalization of payment services in 130 local government institutions across Sri Lanka has been completed.

According to authorities, the initiative has been implemented through GOV PAY.

Deputy Minister Ruwan Senarath stated that steps are currently underway to expand the GOV PAY system to all remaining local government institutions by June.

The programme is part of broader efforts to modernize public services and improve accessibility and efficiency in government payment systems.
