Rajagiriya, April 6 — A sudden fire broke out early this morning at an entertainment venue in Rajagiriya during an event, prompting an immediate emergency response.
According to initial reports, all individuals present at the venue were safely evacuated due to the swift action of staff and emergency personnel.
The Kotte Municipal Council deployed five fire trucks to the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control, with assistance from the dispatched vehicles. The Fire Service Department later confirmed that the flames had been successfully extinguished.
While no casualties have been reported, the fire caused extensive damage to the event hall, according to an on-site report by Ada Derana.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway.
