March 31, 2026

Litro Gas Lanka has confirmed that a stock of 42,000 metric tons of LP gas belonging to Sri Lanka is currently positioned in the Maldives.

Chairman Channa Gunawardana stated that steps are being taken to transport the stock to Sri Lanka as soon as possible, noting that the quantity is sufficient to meet the country’s demand for the month of April.

He further revealed that a vessel carrying 33,000 metric tons of gas required for May is scheduled to arrive on April 25.

Meanwhile, Laugfs Gas CEO Nalinda Kurukulasuriya announced that a separate shipment of 7,000 metric tons of gas is expected to reach the island on April 4.

Authorities say these arrangements are part of ongoing efforts to ensure uninterrupted gas supply in the coming months.
