Gold prices in Sri Lanka have increased by approximately Rs. 4,000, according to local market data.
At the Sea Street Gold Market, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign rose to Rs. 369,900 this morning (15), up from Rs. 366,200 recorded on April 11.
Meanwhile, traders noted that the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign increased from Rs. 398,000 on Saturday to Rs. 402,000 today.
Market sources attribute the rise to ongoing fluctuations in global gold prices and demand trends.
