The Ministry of Finance and Planning has announced the successful completion of the distribution of the Rs. 6,000 allowance for stationery to students from families receiving welfare benefits.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, confirmed that over 1.1 million students have benefited from this initiative.
The government allocated a total of Rs. 6.5 billion for the program, aimed at easing the financial burden on low-income families and supporting students’ educational needs.
