The Government plans to allocate nearly Rs. 42 billion to improve the quality of vocational education in Sri Lanka during the 2027–2031 period.
Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said around Rs. 4 billion of the total allocation is expected to be directed towards the Vocational Training Authority (VTA).
She said the Government aims to transform the Vocational Training Authority into a leading Centre of Excellence in every province, providing students with high-quality vocational training opportunities to support their educational and career aspirations.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while attending the fifth Diploma Award Ceremony of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka, held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).
