The Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill was passed without amendments in Parliament (20), according to the Parliamentary Communications Department.
The Second Reading debate on the Bill was held from 5:40 p.m. to 7:10 p.m., followed by the Committee Stage, after which it was passed.
Initially presented for its First Reading on March 1, 2025, the Bill was endorsed today by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, in line with Article 79 of the Constitution.
With this certification, the Bill is now enacted as the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Act No. 02 of 2025.
