Showers or thundershowers are expected across most parts of the island after 1:00 p.m. today (21), according to the Department of Meteorology.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at several locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, and Anuradhapura.
Misty conditions are also expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central, and Uva provinces, along with Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts, the department added.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
