Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has emphasized that July 9 will be a critical day for Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the media, he noted that a final decision regarding the new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on several countries, including Sri Lanka, is expected on that date.
MP Karunanayake highlighted that although the government has engaged in discussions with US authorities about the tariffs, no clear response has been received so far.
He further expressed concern that Sri Lanka is currently not receiving orders from the US, urging the government to take urgent action and obtain a definitive stance from the US authorities.
