The Ministry of Justice and National Integration has announced a new initiative to expedite the resolution of backlogged land dispute cases in district courts.
Minister Harsha Nanayakkara revealed that over 33,000 land dispute cases are currently pending, accounting for 13% of total cases in these courts.
To tackle this issue, the ministry will establish a multi-stakeholder committee to study the challenges and implement effective solutions for faster case resolution.
