King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in the United States on Monday for a four-day state visit, where they were welcomed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The visit, considered one of the most significant of Charles’ reign, coincides with the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence and marks the first visit by a British monarch to the U.S. in two decades.
However, the high-profile trip takes place amid strained relations between the United Kingdom and the United States, particularly over differing positions on the ongoing tensions involving Iran.
The visit is expected to include key diplomatic engagements aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties despite current geopolitical differences.
