The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds over several sea areas around Sri Lanka.
The advisory, issued today (29), will remain in effect until 11.00 a.m. tomorrow (30).
According to the department, strong winds of 50–60 km/h are expected at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil and from Kalpitiya to Mullaitivu via Mannar and Kankesanthurai.
The Department of Meteorology has advised the public, particularly those engaged in fishing and maritime activities, to remain vigilant and follow future weather advisories issued by the department.
