The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber Advisory for strong winds affecting the North Central, North Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces.
The advisory, issued today (07), will remain in effect until 11.30 a.m. tomorrow (08).
According to the Department, strong winds of 40–50 km/h can be expected at times over the affected provinces due to the active south-west monsoon conditions.
The public has been advised to remain vigilant and follow future weather advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology.
