The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has extended Level 2 (Amber) landslide warnings for several areas in four districts due to continuing adverse weather conditions.
The warnings are valid for 24 hours, from 9.00 a.m. today (05) until 9.00 a.m. tomorrow (06).
According to the NBRO, Level 2 (Amber) warnings have been issued for the following Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas:
Kandy District
- Ududumbara
- Ganga Ihala Korale
- Deltota
- Pasbage Korale
- Doluwa
- Medadumbara
- Panwila
- Udapalatha
Kegalle District
- Yatiyantota
- Bulathkohupitiya
- Dehiowita
- Aranayaka
- Deraniyagala
Nuwara Eliya District
- Talawakelle
- Ambagamuwa
- Norwood
- Kotmale East
- Kotmale West
- Nuwara Eliya
Ratnapura District
- Opanayake
- Imbulpe
- Ratnapura
Meanwhile, Level 1 (Yellow) landslide warnings remain in effect for:
Kegalle District
- Kegalle
Nuwara Eliya District
- Hanguranketha
Ratnapura District
- Nivithigala
- Kuruwita
The NBRO has urged residents in landslide-prone areas to remain vigilant, follow the advice of local authorities and take necessary precautions as adverse weather conditions continue.
