Pakistan Naval Ships TAIMUR and ASLAT have departed Sri Lanka following a two-day goodwill visit, the Sri Lanka Navy announced.
The visit included a formal engagement at the Western Naval Command Headquarters, where Commanding Officers Captain Niamat Saeed Khan and Captain Nadeer Mateen Afridi held discussions with Commander Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumar.
A key highlight of the visit was the participation of the two vessels in the bilateral naval exercise LION STAR V, conducted jointly with the Sri Lanka Navy.
The Navy noted that such exercises play a vital role in enhancing cooperation, interoperability, and the exchange of operational expertise, while strengthening the capacity of regional partners to address shared maritime challenges in the Indian Ocean.
