The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced that passenger transport buses will be in operation from today (April 15), based on public demand.
Shereen Athukorala, Director of Operations and Service Supervision at the NTC, confirmed that bus services will run today and tomorrow according to the regular timetable. She added that a special bus service will commence on April 17 to accommodate passengers returning from their hometowns after the holiday period.
Meanwhile, the Department of Railways stated that office train services will operate as usual today, as it is a regular working day.
General Manager of Railways, Dhammika Jayasundara, noted that additional trains will be deployed depending on passenger demand.
