The much-anticipated Tamil action film “Coolie,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Indian superstar Rajinikanth, is set to release worldwide tomorrow.
Producer Sun Pictures has revealed that the film has already set a new record in advance ticket sales for its North American premieres. According to reports, “Coolie” is expected to surpass the opening-day box office collections of previous Rajinikanth hits, including “Kabali”, as well as Vijay’s “Leo” and Maniratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan”.
This marks the first Tamil film projected to generate over $2 million from pre-release ticket sales in North America. Fans of Rajinikanth have expressed confidence on social media that the film will set a landmark box office record, with several posts suggesting that it will “make new history in cinema.”
Currently, the highest opening-day collection record is held by Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Leo,” which grossed INR 148.5 crore in India. With the immense pre-release buzz, “Coolie” is poised to break new ground both domestically and internationally.
