Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued a special statement expressing his heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him during his recent illness.
In his message, Wickremesinghe said he received a large number of phone calls and messages inquiring about his well-being and wishing him a speedy recovery.
He also highlighted the religious observances conducted across the island in his name, noting that such gestures were of particular significance to him.
“The steps you have taken as citizens of Sri Lanka have given me great courage to recover quickly,” he said.
Wickremesinghe further acknowledged the support extended by members of the United National Party, stating that they had taken every possible measure to assist him during this period.
He concluded by expressing his sincere appreciation for the care and concern shown by the public.
