Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has emphasized the need for a UNP-Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) alliance in the upcoming local government elections.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake stressed that this collaboration must be built through dialogue and mutual respect. However, he warned that the UNP’s progress is being hindered by certain individuals whom he described as “ghosts” engaged in sabotage within the party.
Despite these challenges, he noted that a significant faction in both parties supports the idea of merging, highlighting a growing willingness to unite for the elections.
