Ravi Karunanayake has requested Parliament to reject his entitlement under the parliamentary group insurance scheme and instead donate the amount to the Ditva Fund.
According to reports, the insurance benefit amounts to:
- Rs. 250,000
The request has reportedly been submitted in writing to the Assistant Director of Administration of the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
Karunanayake has requested that the funds be redirected to the:
- Ditva Fund
The move comes amid ongoing discussions regarding:
- Public spending
- Parliamentary privileges
- Disaster relief and recovery assistance in Sri Lanka.
