Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, has claimed that although he remains a loyal member of the party, certain individuals are attempting to destroy it from within.
Addressing a media briefing, Karunanayake said he has previously spoken out about two individuals whom he described as “demons” working to dismantle the UNP and added that he will soon reveal their identities.
Responding to criticism for not naming them earlier, the MP explained that he has refrained from doing so out of a moral duty to protect fellow party members and give them the opportunity to correct their actions.
He further noted that some people are harming the party by making irresponsible statements.
