Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, has emphasized the importance of uniting for a common purpose and launching a program to take the country forward in the aftermath of the elections.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote in the local government elections held today, Karunanayake highlighted the need for a forward-looking national agenda led by the people.
“With the conclusion of the recent elections, including the local government polls, there is now an opportunity to focus on economic progress,” he said.
He added that a clear path must be created to ensure a better future for the people of the country.
