Senaka Pallethenna has been appointed as the new Media Spokesperson of the Prisons Department, effective from yesterday (09).
Pallethenna previously served as the Superintendent of Mahara Prison and as the Training Director of the Prisons Department.
An alumnus of Richmond College, Galle, he holds a diploma in the study of drug abuse from the University of Colombo.
He has also completed a diploma in Criminal Corrections and Rehabilitation Management in Kerala, India, along with several diploma-level courses on drug abuse in countries including India, Thailand, Malaysia, the Maldives and Türkiye.
His academic and professional experience includes extensive training in substance abuse prevention, rehabilitation and criminal corrections management.
