The Department of Meteorology forecasts several spells of showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers are expected at several locations in the Central, Uva, North-Central, and Eastern provinces, and in the Hambantota district after 1:00 p.m.
A few other areas across the island may also experience showers or thundershowers during the afternoon or night.
The public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions are also expected during the morning in parts of the Central and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts.
