The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) announced that it will bring a no-confidence motion against Parliament Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne, accusing him of being unfit to hold office over his recent handling of parliamentary procedures.
Raising the matter in Parliament, SJB MP Ajith P. Perera charged that the Speaker had rejected an earlier no-confidence motion without providing any justification.
He stressed that such conduct undermines democratic principles and erodes parliamentary accountability.
