SLTB Depot Managers Given Deadline to Deliver Profitable, Quality Services

The Ministry of Transport and Highways has issued a directive to Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depot managers to deliver both profitable and high-quality services by the end of next month.

Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena emphasized that action will be taken against those who fail to meet the performance expectations.

Currently, only around 60 of the 107 operational SLTB depots are running at a profit. Since the formation of the new government, approximately 20 new depot managers have been appointed, while the remaining were selected during previous administrations.

Dr. Gunasena noted that the government has allowed time for all managers—regardless of their appointment period—to align with the new operational policies and improve the performance of their respective depots.
