A special meeting with relevant officials is scheduled to take place today (14) to accelerate the restoration of several government online services that were disrupted, affecting approximately eight key departments.
According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, the meeting is set to be held this morning.
The Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) announced yesterday that a technical disruption in the Lanka Government Cloud (LGC) temporarily affected several online services operated by multiple government agencies.
The impacted systems include:

Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD) Certificate System – Registrar General’s Department

e-Revenue License System (eRL 2.0) – Provincial Departments of Motor Traffic (except Western Province)

Police Clearance System – Department of Police

Country of Origin Certificate Issuance Online System – Department of Commerce

Several official websites, including those of the Department of Meteorology, Registrar of Companies, and Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Board.
Engineers from ICTA and the service provider are actively working to restore services as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Registrar General’s Department has advised the public that certificate copies can be obtained manually from the Divisional Secretariat where the original certificate was issued. All stakeholder organizations, including the Police Department, have been informed of the progress.
ICTA emphasized that restoration of LGC services is being given the highest priority. The ongoing LGC expansion project, which began in October 2025, is expected to ease existing capacity and operational constraints.
The agency expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public and affected institutions and assured that all efforts are underway to restore full online service functionality as soon as possible.
